Four Yards of Crushed Gravel

Four yards of crushed gravelI got home last night to find four yards of crushed gravel in the middle of the driveway. Apparently Adrea’s ambition knows no bounds when washed in warm sunshine. Over the past week or so, she has tirelessly tending to the woefully neglected front side of the house – adding new plants, laying down fresh mulch and wrapping it all in a low stone retaining wall. Ironman, Tulalip and Mill Creek Northcreek Trail

The weather is getting better and better, so by the time Friday rolled around, I was ready to cut out for an early start to the weekend. I’m glad I did because as I rolled into the driveway, Adrea was there waiting for me asking if we could take Alex and his friend Carson Ironman 3 movie in Monroe. Fair enough. I ran upstairs, threw down my laptop bag and changed my close. In no time at all, we had the boys in the car heading to the theater. 83 Squares to go, Granny Square Blanket

Over the last couple of days,  I have been banging away in an attempt to knit Adrea a lap blanket for mothers day which is now officially a touch more than a month away (May 12). I picked a pretty cool mock cable pattern, found just the right yarn and have been going to town.

Three days into the project, I have found that on an average 2 hour knitting spree, I am just barely completing one inch of the afghan (lengthwise). Doing the math, sans quitting my job or changing my mind and presenting her with a baby blanket, there was little chance of me completing on time.
